This composition employs just three elements: a sun, a geometric form, and a series of whales. Its deliberately minimalist structure is meant to evoke rather than directly represent the realities behind the imagery.

The whale figures are adapted from a Nuu-chah-nulth basketry design, while the blue geometric form reflects both sky and ocean.
