This whorl is decorated with two frogs, opposed to each other about the spindle hole. Stylistically, formline elements of the northern tradition are combined with a layout typically found on Salish whorls.

Frogs are a favorite of mine to carve or paint.  I occasionally have extended conversations with them in my greenhouse and garden.
