Double-Headed Serpent
The double-headed serpent is a supernatural creature best known as the sisiutl of the Kwakwaka'wakw (Kwakiutl) people though it also appears in the traditions of the Salish, Nuu-chah-nulth, and Makah nations. While often mistaken for lightning serpents—companions of Thunderbird—these beings are distinct entities.

This particular whorl is my interpretation of a double-headed serpent design found on the Ozette whale saddle.
